How podcasting amplifies the voices of women and marginalized creators
Information
This panel serves to speak to the impact both from individual podcasters and on a communal level of how podcasting is actively sharing experiences that haven’t been highlighted or have previously not been given a platform. Featuring There She Goes’ Kelly Chappie, Queer News and E3 Radio’s Anna DeShawn, BIPOC Podcast Creators' Maribel Quezada Smith and An Intimate Conversation with Women of Color's Deneen L. Garrett we’ll discuss how podcasting has the ability to showcase lived experience to offer an empowered narrative to those previously not given an opportunity to be heard. What is the impact of that voice, and what have both creators and communities seen as a result? How can we further amplify these voices through industry support and inclusion?
