Making women podcasters heard

Making women podcasters heard

Virtual Session

Information

In the Portuguese podcast scene, more than two thirds of independent podcast creators identify as men - as in many other countries - and it still looks like a boys' club. How can these creators be better allies for the women (and other minorities) who create podcasts? How can they use their position to create a more inclusive podcast scene? This session will explore common practices that amplify inequality, and present strategies that male-identified podcast creators can put to practice to check their privilege, monitor parity among their podcast guests, mind the composition of their teams and the diversity of their networks, and think about their content with an inclusive perspective.
